Lipstick! I neeeed help!?

Okay, so I always wear super red lipstick, and I love it. I am pale, and I have dark hair, so I think it looks pretty nice. The only problem I have is that my lipstick goes all feathery after 5 minutes! Like when I first put it on it's nice and smooth, but after awhile it starts to get clumpy! I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me how to fix this, thanks. :) Oh, and also, I was told that if I put coverup on my lips before putting lipstick on it should help, but it didn't! It only made it more matte.
