Is this my period or not?

ok so last night i wasn't feeling good and my mom said it might be my period coming so i went to the bathroom and i found a brown streak in the front of my undies so i thought it was just poo so then i wiped and it was lighter color. and this morning on my pad it looked like someone smeared like light pinkish tannish coverup on it. on my last question i have more detales. i had cramps sweaty palms shakey etc. please answer i dont know if this is my period and im going on a trip with my friend so i need to know just incase! thanks!!!!
