Any body knows how to fix a lava lamp?

after a few moths passed after I bought my java lamp the wax stared to congeal at the bottom and some at the top. even though it has been plugged for like an hour the wax just wont move. The wax at the bottom would melt but wont move, and the one at the top just never melts.
